Update

Hey guys sorry it had been forever since I posted, I have a serious sinus infection and haven't really been able to do much of anything. Well Ragtime is over and I only got to do 4 out of the 8 shows because I was too sick. Talk about being disappointed. Well nothing new has been going on other than getting sick. I went back to the doctor today and he said I can go back to school tomorrow which is actually fantastic because I have FCAT some day this week. Ok well I'm going to get some rest, sorry again for the slacking on my behalf.

Shadow Kiss Review (spoilers)

Like always I am giving fair warning to the fact that this book contains massive spoilers for the book Shadow Kiss-the third in the Vampire Acadeemy series- and would advise that if you have not read said book to skip over this quickly and without sneaking any peeks. Alright, cool.

Shadow Kiss was an amazing addition the the Vampire Academy series, it held my attention from start to end. With the novel starting off in the aftermath of Mason-Rose's best guy friend- being killed, you see as Rose struggles to come to grips with the horrible death of someone she cared very deeply for. As the events press on you see as Rose becomes more and more scared that she is losing her mind, I mean who wouldn't when you went through what she had to endure? When Rose starts seeing the ghost of Mason-later discovered to be a side effect of being shadow kissed- she hides it from everyone, including Lissa. Along with all of the personal drama in her own life Rose is trying to help deal with the new complications in Lissa's life as well, Adrian. Adrian is a spirit user, and one who wants to learn more. When Adrian and Lissa begin teaching each other how to use their powers and try to learn more about what exactly a spirit user is, Lissa-unitentionally- sends her 'darkness' into Rose, verses the alternative of increasing depression on herself. Poor Rose takes Lissa's darkness and because of this becomes very short tempered, and irrational, and when Rose gets assigned to Christian, not Lissa, for the novice field exercise, things become even more difficult. In a series of bad timing, Christian and Rose are 'attacked' by the guardians pretending to be strigoi, Mason appears to Rose, causing her to freeze up and in turn allowing for Christian to become a strigoi snack-not literally. On the positive side of things, the mesmerizing love between Rose and Dimitri finally gets its chance to bloom. And after a fun time in a cabin, the two lovers make plans to well... make things work. Only to come face to face with a full fledged invasion of strigoi. After the defeat of most of the strigoi the academy learns that 13 victims had been taken, one of which being Mason's best friend, Eddie. Thanks to the help of her mother and Dimitri, Rose is able to get a large rescue team to go save the captures and Eddie. Although only having enlisted the help of Mason's ghost, who was able to give Rose the direction she needed to find where the strigoi where holed up. But in a drastic turn of events, Dimitri falls on said mission. Rose has a difficult time dealing with the death of her true love, only to learn that he didn't just die... he became the very monster that he killed. And knowing what she did, Rose makes a life altering decision to leave school to go kill Dimitri, even if it means being killed in the process.

Alright so after that little recap I would just like to say that I absolutely loved this book until the ending. HOW CAN YOU KILL HIM! THAT IS SO WRONG! I understand why Mead did this but she was very cruel in getting your hopes up then crushing them. Overall I give this book a 9.5 out of 10. -.5 because I didn't want Dimitri to die....

Well that's that, thanks for reading.

Frostbite Review (Book 2 of Vampire Academy series) *spoilers*

Spoilers!

Ok so I just finished reading Frostbite last night and it was soooo good. I wouldn't necessarily say it was amazing but definitely a great addition to Vampire Academy.  This book caught my attention from Chapter one and held it till the very last word. It was so nice to get to see Lissa spend some quality time with Christian and to watch them get closer and closer. All the while watching Rose struggle with her feelings for Dimitri. Rose both wanted to keep Dimitri away and to hold him close, causing inner conflict expressed throughout the novel. And when a new woman comes into Dimirti's life, Rose is forced to sit by and watch as her love spends his days with her, speaking in casual tones and having playful banter. As the story develops you see as Mason-Rose's best friend-  shows his feelings for Rose at their true strength. Rose begins a relationship with Mason that is soon seen to be nothing but a cover for her feelings towards Dimitri. When Rose and Dimitri leave the school for an important test they come across a horrific scene, leading to life altering news that will forever change the world they live in. And when Rose's mother comes to town Rose is faced with the shadows that she has lived in her entire life. When the school leaves for winter break and heads to a ski resort, things become stranger as they go. Then when a notorious royal becomes interested in Rose and Lissa, Dimitri tries to stop it without revealing his feelings for Rose. And in the rising action of the story hearts race as you see Rose and Mason get into a fight and in turn, Mason make a potentially deadly mistake. When Rose discovers Mason has left the resort on a mission to kill Strigoi-along with Eddie and Mia- Rose enlist the help of Christian to save them from the worst of fates. Then when the group is captured by humans, their worst fears are realized, humans are working with Strigoi. When captured and unconscious Rose finds that Lissa is not the only one who uses spirit. After countless days and hours of torture, giving the group no sustenance, and having to watch as Eddie is drank from every day, Rose has a plan. Giving a signal to Christian the group manages to break free and tie up the humans. And when Rose and Mason go to scout they come face to face with the real threat, Strigoi. The novel takes a heart wrenching turn and in the end leads to a powerful and open ending.

Overall Frostbite receives no criticism and can be said to be a 'forget your kids' sort of novel.

So I know that was realllllllly formal like but I wanted to try it out, please, let me know what you think. Either good or bad I don't care just give me some feedback.

Divergent-Book to Movie Review (spoilers)

There is about to be some serious reviewing going on here and therefore this post will DEFINITELY contain spoilers to both the book annnnnnd the movie Divergent.

Ok so can I just say WHAT THE HELL PEOPLE!!!! So to start off I just want to say that me and my friend-who also read the book- went to see Divergent last night and we counted 65 (am I the only one that wishes you could cap numbers?) things wrong with the movie. Now to be fair the movie itself was amazing and I loved it but the number of things WRONG-as far as not accurate with the book- was soooooo high. For instance the very first sin(I'm stealing the idea of mistakes from CinemaSins on youtube) was that in the freaking OPENING CREDITS they telllll you that they are in Chicago! Like wtf?! You aren't supposed to find out about that until the feel jerking third book. I honestly would have been able to overlook that if not for the fact that the people who we went to the movie with-who hadn't read the book- said "Why is it important they are in Chicago? Do we need to know that? What happened to the rest of the world? Why is the outside off the wall nicer than the inside"? So yeah, I counted that as my number one sin. My second sin was just something that made me angry and not something necessarily wrong with the movie, the cast. I personally feel that  Shailene Woodley is both way to pretty and tall for Tris. Tris is meant to be short and awkward, not MODEL gorgeous. Alsoooo Shailene is very proportional(if that makes sense). As for Theo James, well he is perfection so moving on. Well the rest of cast is just nit picking so I guess I'll skip to a different sin. Oh but I do need to say that I am SOOOOO PISSED that they barely emphasized on Uriah and Zeke(more Uriah but still).  Okay since I don't remember all the sins the next thing I am going to say is that the they had multiple days when the movie starts before the aptitude test. ANNNNND that the serum is a drink and not a shot. Annnnnd where was the rest of the test? Where was the man on the bus thingy? Also they completely left out Tris's neighbors but I can get over that. Next is that Jeanine Mathews DID NOT speak to Tris and Caleb at the choosing ceremony, Tris never met her until when she went to visit Caleb. I counted this as I sin because it seemed out of character-the Dauntless should NOT have clapped for Tris when she chose them. Next is the train, this isn't a big deal just something I noticed, where was the one guy that DIDN'T make it on the train? Okay now we are at one that had me sooooo angry because to me it was important, where was the girl who died when jumping of the train? Then there is the part where the sleeping area was wrong, the room was sooo not supposed to be that big, and the beds were supposed to be bunk beds, and the bathroom was definitely its own room. Next I have the fact that in training they made Tris fight first because she jumped first where in the book i'm pretty sure she sat out that day. Also, I didn't like that they got to see their rank move the whole time. Next on my list is that when Christina got in trouble and had to hang over the chasm the chasm was supposed to be a giant gushing waterfall, not a leak in a pipe. Also another thing that made me angry was that they barely showed how much Christina and Will liked each other. Then there is the whole part where Edward NEVER GOT STABBED IN THE EYE! Like really people? Then there is a small one where when Tris was taking Al's place in front of the target Tobias threw four knives instead of three, and he never taunted her. Then during capture the flag they DID NOT shoot each other with dart like thingys, they shot each other with paintballs, also Christina never tried to steal the flag. Then when Tris was being molested and about to be murdered, she did NOT take off Al's mask, mostly because she was the one with the mask on!  Then there is when they start stage two, it seemed to me like Tobias practically said "I know what you are" and well, that never happened so there. Oh and just because I'm just remembering this, when Tris ended up in the hospital she was NOT almost thrown out of Dauntless. But back to stage two. Well that was it for stage two so now a quick couple side sins, no visiting day, saw mom at random loading dock, never met Will's sister, was NOT supposed to run into Jeanine, why the hell does everyone know about fucking diveRgence except Tris(SOOOO WRONG), then there is when Tris and Tobias went into the cave by the chasm-oh wait that NEVER HAPPENED IN THE MOVIE- then there is the fact that IN THE BOOK the transfers were not MADE to burn their old factions clothes, then there is the part where Erik catches Tris sneaking back in after seeing Caleb- oh wait that ALSO never happened in the movie. Ok so now I'm at stage three, I didn't really have a problem with stage three other than Jeanine was not there watching the simulations. Then there is when the simulation is going on and Tris was caught, she was supposed to be drowned not shot you dumb fucks. And then when she got in to Dauntless, well to say the VERY least no Erudite was supposed to be controlling the simulation, it was only Tobias. Then there is the part where the skipped out on like 50 pages of ending.

Overall if I hadn't read the book I would give the movie a 8 out of 10. But I did read the book so on the scale of 1-10( 1 being this was a book? and ten being omg they did this perfectly) I give Divergent a 6.

In case you want to know the scale:
1-this was a book?
2-are you sure this is based off of ___?
3-this was a really bad movie but the book was awesome.
4-I guess this could pass for ____.
5-They just royally fucked up this ending.
6-This would be perfect if not for ___________.
7-Terrible choice for cast and I can't believe they took ____ out.
8-This was pretty damn good if not for the fact that THAT NEVER HAPPENED.
9-This was so accurate!
10-ITS LIKE WATCHING THE WORDS! THEY DID THIS PERFECTLY!

What's New Wednesday #7

Hey everybody, how's life? Lol like you ever respond. Anyyyyways, so basically whats new is that there is one more day of school before spring break, that guy thingy I had... well he now has a girl that is more than a thingy-but thats old news, also I have begun to write the rising action to "The Shadow War" so thats exciting. Well not much more is new other than my brother-in-law is back in town. So this was short but I don't really have anything else to say.

Oh! Me and some of my friends are going to see Divergent on friday. Which will definitely spark a section on books to movie. In future I will be reviewing Vampire Academy, Beautiful Creatures, Mortal Instruments, Hunger Games, and Divergent. So yeah, I hope that these will be good.
