Short Reviews

Hey guys, so since I have read so many books lately and was un able to post their reviews I'm just going to go ahead and do them all at once together and not make them as long as I usually would.

Deep Blue by Jennifer Donnelly (Waterfire saga #1);

Deep blue is a one sit read most definitely! With its court lifestyle and interesting lingo you are transported to a magnificent world completely different form our own. Deep Blue is filled with mystery,  beauty, tragedy, love, action, and so much more. With this mer-tastic story you not only get to live the childhood dream of being a graceful mermaid but also the dream of being a princess. In this sensational read you get everything you could want and more. Leaving you with an un deniable craving for more, Deep Blue is a must read!

Marked by P.C and Kristen Cast (House of Night #1);

Marked is breathtaking with its entirely new take on vampires. As we read about how Zoey's entire life is uprooted  we fall in love with the many personalities she meets, as there are plenty of characters in this novel. The world that you are cast into when you read Marked is filled with romance, deception, magic, plenty of awkward moments, and lets not forget change. One might think that with so much going on in this novel you might get confused, yet the brilliant Cast duo manages to ease from one twist to the next as if reciting their ABC's. Thoroughly entertaining and leaving you eager for more Marked is just the first in this unstoppable series.

Betrayed by P.C and Kristen Cast (House of Night #2);

In this epic sequel to Marked, Zoey takes on twist after twist in her new life at the House Of Night. Betrayed is chock full of surprises as you start to unravel some truth and uncover more of the mystery left from the first book. As you continue to read on in this story you are met with many different unexpected events. I would like to say that this is story eased on as much as the first, but sadly it was lacking. With a plot with such amazing potential I can't help but feel that the authors let their readers down with their constant recap of the first novel. Nonetheless, Betrayed is still an incredible read that will leave you wanting more.

Chosen by P.C and Kristen Cast (House of Night #3);

Chosen is the third book in the House of Night series, and it definitely makes up for the previous lacking novel, Betrayed. After finding out the shocking turn of events in Betrayed, Zoey is lead to an overwhelming amount of bewilderment. Besides a number of other confusing and stressing developments Zoey is caught in the middle of three different sizzling relationships. One with her previous boyfriend Heath, who is completely swoon worthy, and also happens to have imprinted on her. One with her current boyfriend Erik, who is hypnotizing in his own way. And one with a sort-of teacher, Loren Blake, who turns out to not be who she thought he was. Chosen is an 'E-MAIL IN ALL CAPS, SCREAM AT YOUR FRIENDS, THROW THE BOOK ACROSS THE ROOM,' amazing read.

The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold;

The Lovely Bones is not exactly the book for everyone. With its different and somewhat horrifying plot  you may find yourself cringing more often than smiling. The Lovely Bones is a gripping tale about a fourteen year old girl who is raped and then murdered, throughout the novel you read through her perspective as she looks down from heaven and watches her family try to move on with their lives. Many tears will be shed for the mother who lost a daughter, anger with be felt along side the father who can't catch her killer, your heart will break as you watch as her four-year-old brother tries to make since of it all, and sympathy will be given to the sister who has to live now as the oldest and the only daughter left. This novel leaves you with a jumble of mixed emotions, as it lead you through the many years following the tragic murder. You get to see her brother grow up, not only having lost a sister but later a mother, her father struggle to raise two children on his own, and to watch her sister live the life that she had dreamed for herself. The Lovely Bones may be an strange context but once the words start flowing you are mesmerized by the many lives that can be changed by one little girl and how she never came home.

I hope your enjoyed this late reviews and that you take my advice and read EVERY SINGLE one of these books.
